Master's degree in Computer or Information Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related major that provided the skills, knowledge & abilities required and three years of experience in the job offered or in a related position that provided the required skills, knowledge, and abilities. In lieu of the above-stated primary academic level and job experience requirements, employer will accept a related Bachelor's degree in Computer or Information Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or related major that provided the skills, knowledge & abilities required and 5 years of related progressive, post-degree experience that provided the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.

In addition, requires demonstrable experience, knowledge and proficiency in the following:

  • Avaya ESS (Enterprise Survivable Servers) and LSP (Local Survivable Servers).
  • Avaya Communication Manager maintenance and configuration.
  • Avaya Workforce Optimization.
  • Media Gateways (G250, G350 and G450).
  • LAN/WAN deployment and troubleshooting.
  • Aspect Workforce Management 7.3.0.0.
  • Avaya Certified Implementation Specialist Certification.

Job Description / Responsibilities

  • Work with system engineers to maintain performance levels of Cisco Voice and Avaya (Nortel) systems and monitor PBX, Voice Mail and ACD systems.
  • Train associates on phone system hardware and software.
  • Collaborate with associates and Information Technology staff to improve phone features and telecommunications reports, as well as troubleshoot and consult with vendors and service carriers.
  • Monitor jobs to error-free runs while in Production.
  • Provide technical documentation on voice infrastructure and telecommunications-related procedures.
  • Handle software upgrades and hardware installations.
  • Coordinate and monitor purchasing and licensing activities.
  • Coordinate with data center staff to implement, design, and support all voice applications and systems.
  • Contribute to team effort through knowledge sharing.
  • Recommend and implement solutions for problems within the team.

May perform other duties normally associated with this occupation as assigned.

Additional Information

  • No Travel or telecommuting. Position is project-based at various unanticipated work sites within the U.S., and relocation may be required at the end of each long-term project.
